(Photo: Google Images…LOVE it!)
So, Happy Earth Day! I’m sitting here in the dark without the TV on, in honor of Earth Day today. Feeling pretty “earthy” today, as I just read an email Brian forwarded me from our “farmer.” Yep, I said our farmer! A couple months ago we joined Fox Run Farms as a CSA (community supported agriculture) member. I know what you are thinking…”they really are hippies from OU aren’t they?” I must admit, it’s true…but without the patchouli. I can’t wait to receive our first box of healthy goodies next month! We decided to give this a try, since we LOVED going to the farmers markets last summer, and since Brian and I are both very interested in healthy and natural eating (don’t get me wrong…I’m not giving up my candy or ice cream, but just trying to reduce processed stuff). It also seems that our decision came at the right time, since my current health scares are making me question everything I put into my mouth. Ugh! So, now we wait for the fruit and veggies to grow…and I’m so looking forward to them all!
And of course a photo…Have you ever driven around with a bunny in the backseat? As you can see…I have! Cracks me up how much O loves hats! Love it!
Speaking of O…can’t believe he will be 2 in just 3 days! Breaks my heart that he’s growing so fast...
Happy Earth Day…
peace.

So, it’s April, and I cannot remember where March went! Oh wait…I was in alternate assessment hell…that’s where it went! Not to mention many other crazy things including anaphylactic shock for me, causing us to miss Playhouse Disney Live on March 26th. (Of course I thought I was fine and wanted to continue driving downtown! Thanks to Brian, for saving my life for the second time in our 9 year marriage! ) Yep, seems like I cannot do anything easy relating to my health over the past 2 years! (Doing fine though…still waiting on what the cause is/was?) Don’t worry, I’m sure Ticketmaster doesn’t mind my keeping my money even though we weren’t there. Never fails that when I take a sick day…I’m really sick!
Anyway, even though I do have one photo of my swollen face, I won’t be sharing it here. But, here’s a photo log (sorry if I get carried away) of our end of March and Easter weekend! We are so blessed to be surrounded by great friends…whom have become our family since moving to KY. Enjoy!
Just a sweet moment between O and I. I remember looking down and wondering when he got too tall for me to hold. Cherishing each moment as he is almost two!
Have you ever seen a mowing bunny? O made these at school and wore them for 2 days straight…even to the tub!
Owen’s first trip to the zoo (except during Christmas). He LOVED the train!
Stopping to smell the beautiful tulips at the zoo! But of course, he wouldn’t sit still for a photo!
Yep, that’s an orange…a rotten one to be exact! B throws them at the end of our yard, and since O loves all things round, he threw it for hours. Gotta love the little things!
Double fisted…with chalk! Owen LOVES to color and be crafty…and pink is still is favorite, although he calls every color green!
Dying eggs…so much fun for the first time!
Happy Easter Little Dude! The bunny was good to you! Swimming trunks of course…just like when I was a kid. But I’ll never forget when the Bunny (with help from Aunt Tammy) brought us NKOTB (yep, New Kids) tickets! So cool…back in the 80’s! I’ll never forget it!
Hunting eggs…and of course…eating candy! He is my child after all!
Owen trying to keep up with Lyndsay…wearing his ears on Easter!
Kate, Lyndsay and Owen…doesn’t it look like they could be siblings! They only sat for a minute though…a very quick minute!
Us…
The Easter Bunny spoiled O again…even with Diego and Baby Jaguar! Thanks Easter Bunny!! He LOVES them!
Owen marched down the sidewalk numerous times..stepping over the eggs! Crazy boy!
Beer hunt anyone? I wonder who this belongs to?
Pure joy…while riding on the wagon! He was seriously SO HAPPY! Brought back instant memories for me of playing at my Grandpa and Grandma Rose’s house as a kid and adult! Miss those times and how close our family used to be. But, even though we don’t see each other often, we’ll always share those memories and be bonded forever. Got choked up wishing they were here to meet Owen and all of the grandkids, as he (they) would have melted their heart…as he does ours. Sorry, didn’t mean to get deep there…but it feels good to document my feelings and memories! Back to scheduled programming…
Sweet Lyndsay! She and Owen have SO MUCH fun together…and play until they drop! Can’t wait until summer and playdates (for the kids and adults!)
Love this one of Barry, Tom and the kids. So sweet! Thanks again to the Hogg-Hartman families for always making us feel at home! We love you all!
Whew…are you bored with photos yet? I feel like I owed the grandparents some photos, so feel free to print and enjoy! Off to watch Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution! I’m kind of obsessed with it…as I see the exact foods served at my school. Not sure how to make changes, but I am interested in learning more and finding out.
Oh, and did I mention it’s officially spring break!!! Ahhhhh……Life is good!
peace.

Funny that I cannot think of anything to call this post. So, just plain "hi" will do. Today was one of those days...you know the kind...the one where you just want to crawl back in bed. By 10:30 this morning I had sent 2 kids home puking. Yep, the joys of teaching! I'm sure that I'll see them both tomorrow though...another joy of teaching! On a positive note, I've got a great team to help me through each day...and of course...the kids! Love them!
Speaking of kids...I must insert a photo of Mr. O. This one taken exactly one year ago today. Look at that baby face! Where has time gone?
Alright...off to finish the last 8 pages of "The Pact." I was too tired to finish it last night...but I can't wait to see how it ends.
Sending lots of love...
peace.

(The Counting Crows are playing in my head...can you tell by the title?!)...
Anyway, not much going on around here lately...except little sleep and LOTS of begging to go outside (from both Owen and Uno! So, I'm happy to oblige, and as long as the weather cooperates, we are out there. The problem...sweet little O turns into a screaming-almost-2-tantrum-throwing maniac! Yep, even today we didn't make it in the house (since I didn't close the garage door right away), and after 30 minutes of chatting and playing in our sweet neighbor Kim's yard (and garage), it was time to go inside. Why you may ask? Because Owen thinks that all animals should love him like Uno does, which was not the case with the neighbor cats Chloe and Whisper! Crazy! I forsee LOTS of time spent outside this summer...good thing I found at least 8 types of sunblock while cleaning recently! I cannot wait...seriously...cannot wait!
In other news...I've been scrapping lots lately (and it feels so good!), and am now blonde again thanks to my sweet (and talented) stylist LesLee! I remember long ago not having to pay for my blonde...no such luck now!
OK, here's what you've really been waiting for...right? Photos...
Silly boy...chillin' in his chair!
Bubble blowing with the Gpa and Gma Wells...
O and Daddy sharing Sonic treats...yum!
Helping get his "nilk" before bed (aka soy milk)...
Speaking of bed...I'm so tired and am heading up to get these contacts out. Oh, and I cannot believe I'm going to say this, but I'm excited to read before bed. Yep...me...getting back into the swing and enjoyment of reading...just for fun. It's about time I finish the book (The Pact by Jodi Picoult) I took to Cancun...summer of 2007!
miss and love you all...
peace.

I'm so excited...today is the day!! Are you ready for over 50 handmade giveaways from an amazing group of artists, plus a HUGE Bella Blvd Prize pack? I know I am! This blog crawl is a "free-style" crawl, meaning that there is no correct order to hop from Blog to Blog! Isn't that cool! No rules, just plain fun! I'm ready...so let this crawl begin!!
I've been brainstorming ideas since I was first asked to participate, and finally after letting this marinade for a week (or more), this sweet, little, framed (handstitched) heart came to mind. I knew immediately that I HAD to use three of my favorite Bella Blvd papers (even though I have MANY favorites). Of course my favorite is the green from the Plastino collection (called Trellis), but I equally LOVE the Honey I'm Home collection (Alleyway and Couch Potato). I started with just one layer, but then kept adding until it felt just right! Such a great way to use up some of those scraps we have lying around! Without further ado I present to you my handmade giveaway...
So, how do you win this and LOTS of other beautiful stuff? Simple, just do both of the following things:
1. Become a fan of Bella Blvd on Facebook, and
2. Leave a comment below! Just for fun, I'd LOVE to hear what your favorite candy is, but of course it's not required to win! (I'm just always looking for new treats to satisfy my sweet tooth!) International comments welcome and are eligible to win!!
Yep, It's that easy! I'll announce the winner of my giveaway on Monday! Be sure to crawl on over to these Bella Artista Blogs to get in on their handmade giveaway too! Isn't this fun!!

Am I really 34 years old today? Time has flown by so fast, that I hardly remember being 24, let alone now being 34. Crazy! I always find myself reflecting on the previous year or years on this day. I still cannot believe that I am here…and healthy! It’s hard to imagine being born at only 2 pounds on this day, when I was not supposed to arrive until May 21…34 years ago…and I sit here today without any limitations. I am reminded of this every day at work, and am forever thankful and grateful for each and every day. I’m grateful to have such a wonderful husband, and the most amazing little boy. I’m grateful that I survived HELLP Syndrome, and that we came home as a family of three. I’m grateful for my amazing family…those that live far away and those that have become family right here in Kentucky. You mean the world to me, and have helped make me the person I am today. I’m grateful that I got to hear my “Grandma with the Boys” (yes, that’s what we call her) tell me Happy Birthday, and it sounded like she even remembered who I was…so very special to me. I’m grateful for all of the friends who brighten my life and make me laugh, and teach me how to be a better friend. I’m grateful for my job, and even though I’m still enduring the hardest year of teaching yet, I’m proud to stand up for what I believe is right…even when met with many challenges. I’m grateful for each and every Facebook message that I received today…as it meant so much! I’m grateful for our sweet black lab Uno, who waits for me to go to bed each night so she can “stand guard” until Brian comes home. I’m thankful for technology, and that I can Skype with family to make days like this even more special. I’m grateful for these things and so much more…
As this day comes to an end, I must always send special thoughts to my (our) sister up above. I know that you endured so much during your short life on this day…34 years ago, and know that I’ll never forget you. Happy Birthday sis!
Thanks so much to all of you…you truly mean so much to me! I look forward to another great year to come!
Sending lots of love…
peace.
